I photographed this Château Élan wedding in Pokolbin, capturing relaxed and candid moments throughout the day as a Hunter Valley wedding photographer. Set within The Vintage estate, the venue offers a mix of open space, vineyard surroundings, and golf course views that allow everything to flow naturally. The day felt calm and well-paced, with each part unfolding without pressure.

Château Élan Wedding in Pokolbin Hunter Valley

Château Élan is set within The Vintage estate in Pokolbin, surrounded by vineyards and overlooking a golf course. The venue offers multiple ceremony and reception spaces, along with onsite accommodation, making it possible to keep the entire day in one place.

Ceremonies can take place in different areas around the estate, depending on the style of the day. The open surroundings and landscaped areas provide a clean and natural backdrop without needing to overstyle.

Guests remain close, which helps create a more connected and focused atmosphere during the ceremony.

Getting Ready at Château Élan

The morning begins onsite, with accommodation available across the estate. Having everything in one place helps the day start without rushing or needing to travel.

There’s space to move comfortably, and the surroundings allow moments to unfold naturally without needing to organise too much.

The ceremony took place in the Little Chapel, a sandstone space with timber beams and stained glass windows. With a small group of guests, the atmosphere felt quiet and focused rather than empty.

Each part of the ceremony carried a sense of presence, with attention on the couple and the moment itself. It created a setting where everything felt intentional without needing to add anything more.

Portraits Around Château Élan

After the ceremony, we stayed close to the chapel and moved through the surrounding grounds for portraits. The open space and vineyard setting made it easy to keep things relaxed, with no need to travel far.

As the light softened, the atmosphere shifted slightly, which helped keep everything feeling natural. At one point, a kangaroo passed through in the background, adding a moment that felt unexpected but very much part of the setting.

A Dinner at The Legends Grill

The reception was held at The Legends Grill, Château Élan’s signature restaurant overlooking the golf course. With a single long table, candles, wine, and heartfelt toasts, the couple created an atmosphere that felt more like a dinner with family than a formal event. It was everything they wanted.
